Netiquette

What is Netiquette? 

Netiquette is network etiquette, the do's and don'ts of online communication. Netiquette covers both common courtesy online and the informal "rules of the road" of cyberspace.


Rules of Netiquette                        

1. Remember the human.

2. Use the same rules you would in person. 

3. Know where you are in cyberspace.

4. Respect others time.

5. Share expect knowledge.

6. Respect others privacy.

7. Be forgiving of others mistakes. 


Social Networking and Cyberbullying Policies

 (to include email and internet policies) 

Students will not: 

  • post any material that is deemed threating, harassing, derogatory, illegal, or obscene by the school. 
  • post phone number, address, or any other personal information, unless deemed appropriate by the teacher. 
  • allow any other person to utilize their usernames or passwords. 
  • assume the identity of any other person than themselves. 

Students must remember that what is posted utilizing the school account is a reflection of our school, and must follow all school expectations. 

Cyberbullying is the use of electronic information and communication devices to willfully harm a person and/or persons by the use of electronic text, photos, and/or videos. 

  • Cyberbullying will not be tolerated at our school. 
  • We will have safe, kind, responsible, and respectful behavior online and on campus. 
  • Cyberbullying will be punishable following the Code of Conduct. This includes suspension, and expulsion.
